Description of 'scientists' by Yann Martel in Life of Pi

Scientists are a friendly, atheistic, hard-working, beer-drinking lot whose minds are preoccupied with sex, chess and baseball when they are not preoccupied with science.

Perhaps the beak would have preferred "Scientists are a nice, god-fearing, non-passionate lot whose minds are preoccupied with the latest gossip in town and the most recent fashion trends when they are not preoccupied with science".

I mean that would be sexist too, but it would satiate the beak. :P

@Anjor: It's sexist because this description assumes a scientist in general to be male. This is obvious because: a)Beer is not something females prefer. (yes, yes: in general) b)The same holds for baseball/ sport in general (Yes, again a generalisation.)

@Sudeep: Perhaps the beak would prefer it if sexist overtones were avoided completely. And if that's what you think of us, then you're wrong! :P

Sexist, but cool. Obviously male scientists have different preoccupations than female ones. We can't just bunch them together.
